Program leader: Your guide will be Ranger Rachel, Park Naturalist at EMBARC Youth Farm and have several special guests.
Where to meet: Upon entering the park, turn right and go to the end of the parking lot by the large field. Meet Ranger Rachel under the green pavilion for check in and introductions.
What to bring: Please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and weather appropriate clothing. There is always a chance of children getting dirty during programming, so we recommend having a change of clothing/shoes for after the program. Each participant should bring a reusable water bottle. We will have bug spray and sunscreen available.
Restrooms: The available bathroom is the portapotty located in the parking lot by park head quarters on the other side of the park (professionally cleaned twice a week).
Recommended ages: This program content is designed for elementary aged children. Parents must stay during program to help guide their child(ren)’s learning.
Weather contingency: This program will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Notice will be sent via email no later than one hour before the program.
Walking distance: Distances vary from week to week. Please contact Ranger Rachel if there are any questions.
Exposure: This program will be held under various canopies. Some programs will be under shade while others will be under full sun. If you have questions, please contact Ranger Rachel.
Trail surface & accessibility: These programs will be held on mixed terrain from concrete, soft trail, and turf. DeKalb County Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs is committed to providing inclusive and accessible programs. Reasonable accommodations may be available upon request. To request an accommodation, please contact the program organizer at least 48 hours in advance of the event. Questions if this program will work for your mobility?
