AWARE - the Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort, dedicated to rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife - offers free tours every Sat and Sun. Meet on the front porch slightly before 1pm. Meet some of AWARE's ambassador animals and learn about their lives, habitats, prey, and more. Ambassadors will vary but may include owls, hawks, snakes, possums, and/or turtles, among others. Tour lasts around 45 minutes. Park in the public parking area at 4158 Klondike Road, then walk through AWARE's gate…

Intro to Tree Climbing

Join us "on rope" for an adventure exploring the canopy above. This is an introductory program to recreational tree climbing. Participants will use rope and harness to climb, swing, and scramble. Climbs start at 1 PM and 3 PM. Call Nature Center to register. Ages 8 and up.

Living History at Panola

Learn about Panola's rich history through hands-on living history demonstrations that depict everyday family life during the 1820s and 1830s at the Parker House. Visitors will get to participate in activities such as: candle making, butter churning, cooking, making rag dolls, and other period games all from guides in historic period clothing.

MLK Day of Service

Join us as we give the park some extra TLC. Help us keep Panola beautiful on this national day of volunteer service dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Come prepared to work and make new friends while you're at it. Bring water, sturdy shoes, and work gloves. Must register in advance by calling the Nature Center.

Come learn about Arabia's natural and cultural resources as we take in the views and provide you with a better understaanding of local history, industry, and the ecology of the Preserve. Hikes are moderate for 1-2 hours. Please dress for the weather and bring a refillable water bottle and snacks. Indoor Basic Archery
