Lean how to identify the different species and find them in the streams and wetlands. Volunteer to keep the South River trash-free for Earth Day. Join a group led by DeKalb County's Adopt-A-Stream and Keep DeKalb Beautiful in removing trash and debris from the banks of the South River.  Please wear old shoes and clothing, bug repellant and bring water. Adults and children over 10 years welcome.

Learn about the Nature Preserve's lakes, creeks and streams on an interpretive hike led by Park Ranger Robby Astrove and DeKalb County Adopt-A-Stream Coordinator Michael O’Shield.   This is an interactive hike -  attendees will be trained on how to evaluate stream health by learning how to perform habitat assessments, measure cross-sections, and calculate stream flow.Wear sturdy shoes and bring a water bottle.
