Is the National Heritage Area Open?
COVID-19 has impacted parks and sites throughout the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area. Check out our answers to all of your questions below!
What’s open, and what’s closed?
Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort (AWARE) is CLOSED.
Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve is OPEN. Please note that public programs are cancelled and Nature Center is closed, however.
Flat Rock Archives of Stonecrest, Georgia is CLOSED.
Monastery of the Holy Spirit is CLOSED, but grounds and trailhead remain OPEN.
Panola Mountain State Park – is OPEN. Please note that public programs are cancelled and Nature Center is closed, however.
Can I fish?
Fishing is not allowed at Panola Mountain State Park at this time.
Can I camp?
No, camping is always prohibited at Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve and not allowed at Panola Mountain State Park at this time.
Can I ride my bike on the PATH trail?
The Arabia Mountain PATH, the 33+ mile multiuse trail that runs throughout the AMNHA, remain open for use, although most bathrooms remain closed. Please practice physical distancing as you enjoy the trail. Click here for a trail map and here for information about the Henry County PATH extension and other other updates.
Remember: It is safer to be outside than in enclosed & crowded spaces, but the virus remains present. Please wash/sanitize your hands when possible, practice physical distancing, and stay home if you feel unwell.
