South River Cleanup
Jun 23, 2012 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
No costMark your calendar, don your rubber boots, and plan to lend a hand at the “Get the Trash Out” South River clean up Saturday, June 23, 9:00 am to 1:00pm. We will remove trash and tires from the river on both sides of Panola Shoals at Hwy 155 (Snapfinger Road) and the Flat Bridge Road section of Panola Mountain State Park. This event is sponsored by SRWA (South River Watershed Alliance) and Keep Dekalb Beautiful. Everything needed to pick up and remove trash will be provided including gloves and pick-up sticks. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes or boots that you don’t mind getting wet. No flip-flop or slide-on shoes allowed. Please volunteer to take part in this event to help restore South River.
Everyone will meet at the Panola Shoals trailhead for clean-up site assignments. The trailhead is at the intersection of Panola Road and Highway 155 (Snapfinger Road).
