AWARE - the Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort, dedicated to rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife - offers free tours every Sat and Sun. Meet on the front porch slightly before 1pm. Meet some of AWARE's ambassador animals and learn about their lives, habitats, prey, and more. Ambassadors will vary but may include owls, hawks, snakes, possums, and/or turtles, among others. Guided Mountain Hike

Wonder why Panola Mountain is a restricted area? Come on a guided hike for a close look at our unique ecology and see how outcrop plants scrape out a living in this harsh environment. Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring water. Register in advance.

Intermediate Archery

Improve your archery skills in this class that focuses on accuracy and shooting farther distances. Students must attend three basic archery classes before attending this program. Meet at Alexander Lake pavilion. Participants must call Nature Center to register no later than the day before the class is scheduled AND pay in advance.

Come learn about Arabia’s natural and cultural resources as we take in the views and provide you with a better understanding of local history, industry, and the ecology of the Preserve. Hikes are moderate for 1-2 hours. Please dress for the weather and bring a refillable water bottle and snacks.

Cosmic Archery

Join our Archery Instructor for this spectacular program! During our Cosmic Archery program you will get to fine tune your archery skills in the dark with the assistance of black lights, glow in the dark targets, and glow sticks. Friends of Panola Mountain Extended Hike

Take a guided hike with a trained "Friends of Panola" volunteer, through the restricted Conservation Area and up to the summit of Panola Mountain. This is a 5-mile, semi-off trail, strenuous hike that offers a variety of beautiful views and unique perspectives on the park. Must call to register in advance.

ASL Signing Stroll

Come learn some basic signs for nature as we stroll along the Rock Outcrop Trail. This is a free program for all ages. Trail is .75 miles and is easy, but not stroller accessible. You do not need to register for this event, just show up.

Intro to Tree Climbing

Join us "on rope" for an adventure exploring the canopy above. This is an introductory program to recreational tree climbing. Participants will use rope and harness to climb, swing, and scramble. Climbs start at 1 PM and 3 PM. Call Nature Center to register. Ages 8 and up.
