Wonder why Panola Mountain is a restricted area? Come on a guided hike for a close look at our unique ecology and see how outcrop plants scrape out a living in this harsh environment. Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring water. Register in advance.

Does your little one love nature? Foster your child's sense of curiosity and wonder through this Pre-K readiness program. Each month children will be introduced to a different topic about nature through interactive play, story time, song/movement, crafts, and science. Recommended for ages 2-4. Cost is $5/child. Learn about Panola's rich history through hands-on living history demonstrations that depict everyday family life during the 1820s and 1830s at the Parker House. Visitors will get to participate in activities such as: candle making, butter churning, cooking, making rag dolls, and other period games all from guides in historic period clothing.

Take a night hike on the Rock Outcrop Trail and experience the park after dark. Listen to myths and origins of the constellations and observe the magnificent winter sky using provided stargazing equipment and star charts.
