Nature At The De Castro’s

Located along the PATH in South Rockdale Community Park, the De Castro Nature Pavilion merges beautiful nature, fascinating local history about the de Castro Family, and stunning views of the South River.

Enjoy this rest stop along the Rockdale River PATH. It is located approximately 1 mile south of the De Castro Trailhead parking area and 1 mile north of the South Rockdale Community Park parking lotThe new pavilion offers visitors restrooms, drinking fountains, nature interpretation and history about the de Castro Family, including the family graveyard with the resting place of Hatchet, “a good dog.” 

The pavilion is not rentable and is free and open to all from sunrise to sunset!
