Description:Join the Stone Mountain Memorial Association and Georgia State University for Rock-n-Walk, a part of the Atlanta Science Festival. 

Millions of years ago a massivemagma chamber cooled below ground near Atlanta, never erupting through to thesurface. Now, we call it Stone Mountain. Join GSU Geosciences on a hike toexplore this unique granite dome. You can start the hikes or swing by for aninformation session at the visitor center in Confederate Hall where thegeologists will explore the history of this notable natural landmark.

 Hikes will depart from theConfederate Hall Historical & Environmental Education Center. Groups will depart frequently. Tours are free with park admission.
