Adopt-a-Stream Training
Jun 30, 2012 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
No costWater quality in South River is the source of much angst and confusion which negatively impacts the community’s perception of the river. Advocacy for South River and its tributaries require strong community based knowledge and action. South River Watershed Alliance has partnered with Dekalb County’s Adopt-a-Stream to provide water quality monitoring training which will provide individuals with the skills to detect bacterial (fecal coliform) pollution in South River, creeks and streams. The 4-hour training session will be held Saturday, June 30, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, at the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve. Participants will receive hands-on instruction and will collect and test water samples as part of the training.
