
2025 Advocacy Film Series: The Movement and the Madman + Ghosts of a Lost Cause

FREEJuly 13, 2025 – Join SRWA in partnership with Sierra Club Georgia Chapter at The Plaza Theater for a FREE screening of The Movement and the Madman – a film chronicling the planning, commentary, and determination of organizers of a nationwide nonviolent protest against the Vietnam War. During intermission we’ll have a lively and collaborative discussion followed by an encore screening of Ghosts of a Lost Cause, a short film highlighting the stories of ordinary citizens who chose to fight in an “advocacy desert” to remove a confederate war monument in Murray, Kentucky during the 2020 Movement for Black Lives. Both films exhibit the power of resiliency and organized, nonviolent protest in the fight for justice.
Escape the heat and spend matinee with us! The Movement and the Madman, a 1.5 hr. film, begins at 2pm followed by an intermission and lively discussion with activists and filmmakers. Ghosts of a Lost Cause runs 30 min. and will begin at approximately 4:30.
