It’s time to lace up your hiking boots and get outside to discover metro-Atlanta’s monadnocks for our annual Monadnock Madness!
We won’t be able offer our Guided Triple Hikes this year, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the madness. Instead, take the Triple Hike Challenge on your own. Simply visit metro Atlanta’s three monadnocks — Stone, Arabia, and Panola — during the month of March to earn your prize. You can climb all the monadnocks in one day or take your time the entire month of March. It’s easy to participate and earn your prize. When you visit Stone, Arabia, and Panola Mountains this month, snap a picture (selfies are always encouraged). Once you’ve visited all three mountains, share your pictures with us via our virtual passport. Then, we’ll mail you a prize.
Guided Hikes of Panola Mountain
Our friends at Panola Mountain are offering some guided hikes throughout the month of March (see the calendar below for dates).
If you want hike to the top of Panola Mountain, you must register for a guided hike. Reservations are now open, and their hikes will sell out. Reserve your spot ASAP. If you’re unable to go on a guided hike at Panola, you can still earn your passport stamp by simply visiting the park.
Hike a FOURTH Monadnock
Did you know that Kennesaw Mountain is also a monadnock?
Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is joining the challenge once again this year. You don’t have to hike this mountain to earn your prize, but you’ll earn something extra special if you do!
