The Flat Rock Archives is housed in the ancestral home of Rev. T.A. Bryant, Jr. He donated the house, built by his father in 1917, to the Archives to house the collections of and tell the stories of the Flat Rock Community. Johnny Waits is the president of the Archives and a descendant of one of DeKalb County’s oldest families. He guides visitors through a history of the traditionally African-American community and offers tours of the Lyon Farm and a slave cemetery. The archive is open every Tuesday from 10am-4pm or by appointment. Call 770-797-5625.
Additional details are available at the Flat Rock Archives website.
