We’re looking forward to hosting the Alliance of National Heritage Areas spring meeting and strategic planning sessions at Arabia Mountain!  Please consult the itinerary below for specifics on times and locations of events. We’ll continue to update this page as needed until your arrival.

During the field day, we’ll be hiking and biking throughout the 40,000 acre NHA. We are excited to share our mountaintop views, endemic plants, and a deeply rooted community found nowhere else on Earth. Please note that you should wear clothing that will allow you to fully enjoy our natural setting, rain or shine!

Do you need to book a hotel room? Click to book the Hyatt Place or the Fairfield Inn. Both hotels are located in the Stonecrest Mall area and are close to restaurants and shopping.

12pm – 5pm: Southeast Regional Meeting. Lunch provided 

Location Lithonia Woman’s Club, 2564 Wiggins Street, Lithonia, GA  30058

Agenda: Southeast NHA Meeting April 2014  In addition to regional business, we have a panel planned on Managing Social Media.

6pm – 730pm: Welcome Reception at the Hyatt Place. Light appetizers, beer & wine courtesy of Duke Hospitality.

Dinner on your own. We will be able to provide suggestions and directions on site. 

Wednesday, April 23

6am – 8am: Breakfast on your own at your hotel.

8am – 930am : ANHA Business Meeting at the Hyatt Place. Meeting itinerary to follow. 

10am – 8pm: AMNHA Field Day. Please dress for active, outdoor activities.  Transportation, lunch, snacks, entry fees and dinner provided.

Thursday, April 24

6:30am – 7:45am: Adventure bonus!  Sunrise hike with Ranger Robby at Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Center. 3787 Klondike Road, Lithonia, GA 30038. The hike will leave promptly at 6:30am as the sun will not wait for us. Please dress for a light hike and bring plenty of water. Don’t forget your camera!

830am – 5pm: ANHA Strategic Planning Meeting. Light breakfast, hot lunch and snacks provided. Meeting agenda to follow.  Depart hotel by 830am to allow for travel to the Monastery.
