The new DeCastro Nature Pavilion in South Rockdale Community Park is almost open! Located along the DeCastro Trailhead, this tranquil walking path rest stop utilized the foundation and chimney of the old DeCastro House for the current structure. The new pavilion will offer visitors restrooms, drinking fountains, interactive nature interpretation and history about the DeCastro Family, including the family graveyard with the resting place of Hatchet, “a good dog.” More information coming soon!
