Stewardship Saturday – Rivercane Restoration

January 21 @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 9:30am on Saturday, repeating until January 28, 2017

Free

Join us as we partner with the South River Watershed Alliance to help clean-up and restore native vegetation to the bank of the South River. Wear work shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy and long pants. Don’t forget gloves, a water bottle, and snacks too. Meet at Alexander Lake Area Parking Lot. Visit the SRWA webpage for more details.

The first step is to remove invasive plants and litter from the bank, so bring your determination and a can-do attitude! In the spring we will transplant native River Cane into the area to help stop erosion. Dates are subject to change based on weather.
