Preserving and Sharing Rural African-American History in Georgia

Join Flat Rock Archives President Johnny Waits and Stockbridge City Council member Elton Alexander to discover one of the oldest African-American communities in the state of Georgia: Flat Rock. Waits will discuss the area’s long history and the story of the people of Flat Rock as they strove – and succeeded – to create a prosperous African-American community in rural Georgia. 

The event is free and open to the public at Cochran Public Library in Stockbridge, part of the Henry County Public Library System.
