Pedaling Picnic at Panola Mountain

Jun 14, 2015 @ 11:00 am - 12:25 pm

$5

Take a trip through history at Panola Mountain State Park! This family-friendly ride will take us past a 300-million year old monadnock, through a historic horse barn, and to a picture perfect lake for a picnic lunch.

We will take our time as we meander over hills and around the bends of the paved Arabia Mountain PATH (AMP). However, there are climbs here and beginner cyclists and young children could find some of the trail difficult. Please remember that you’ll need to pay the $5 parking fee unless you have a Georgia State Parks parking pass. Donations for this event will be happily accepted at the Nature Center.

Time: 11 AM to 12:30 PM. After riding to Alexander’s Lake we’ll stop for a picnic lunch by the water. We’ll then head back to the Nature Center via a spectacular wooden boardwalk.
Difficulty: This is a family friendly ride but it can be strenuous and has several changes in elevation. We will keep a slow pace but your own level of experience will determine if the ride is easy or challenging.
Distance: 5.15 miles
BYOP: Don’t forget to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the banks for Alexander’s Lake!
