The Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area operates under a community-created management plan that defines the significant historic, natural and cultural sites and how they can be shared with the public. It serves as a guideline for the activities of the Alliance and defines our partnership. The National Park Service requires that every Heritage Area complete a Management Plan.
The plan was created through a series of public meetings in 2005-06 and was drafted by ECOS Environmental Design. It has been recognized by the American Society of Landscape Architects and received an “Environmental Planning Award” from the Georgia Planning Association. The plan has been review by stakeholders and communities and has been submitted to the NPS for acceptance.
